Stool Or Coffee Table Ceramic Head Sculpture Philippe Starck

It is a Sculture "Side table, stool, end of sofa...", in resolutely sculptural chrome ceramic which goes beyond its function to become an object of Art with a strong and unusual character. Representing a peaceful face with an enigmatic smile (the Buddha, Portrait of Lorenzo de' Medici, a Watchman, the Cushion of the Sleeping Muse by Brancusi ex... Clean lines, almond-shaped eyes and Cleopatra's nose.
Work designed and created by Philippe STARCK in 1949 in France for XO.
French architect and designer but also visionary and poet, he is interested, among other things, in ideas that can improve life and strives to invent cultural and utilitarian forms full of simplicity which are a perfect demonstration of his talent and originality of his ideas.
The structure of the seat is hollow with a disc opening under the bottom where the signature stamp is visible. Circa 1990
