David Lan-Bar, pseudonym of David Langberg, was born on December 26, 1912 in Poland and died on March 26, 1987 in Paris.
He fled the pogroms and settled in Israel in 1934 then in Paris in 1948 where he attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
Figurative elements gradually disappear from his works in favor of abstraction, in a style sometimes described as “abstract impressionism”.
He exhibits in numerous museums around the world, notably in Paris (Museum of Modern Art), Turin, Tel Aviv, Haifa, New York, Chicago (Art Institute of Chicago) and Montreal (Museum of Fine Arts). .
He also participates in numerous trade fairs and biennials, including the Réalités Nouvelles and Indépendants trade fairs in Paris.
