Louis XV style chest of drawers in rosewood marquetry. Model with drawers without nicely curved crosspiece. Beautiful gilding and superb quality. Very beautiful model with rococo bronzes attributed to the Millet house in Paris. Languedoc red marble top Perfect condition, with its key. The Millet house was founded in Paris in 1853. A very talented specialist in the reproduction of 18th century furniture, Millet created furniture and artistic bronzes of very high quality. He was one of the very few cabinetmakers to obtain authorization from the Palace of Versailles to create a replica of Queen Marie-Antoinette's famous jewelry case. An artist of great merit, he obtained the highest rewards, such as the Gold Medal, at the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1889 or the Grand Prize, at the Universal Exhibition of 1900. The Millet House existed until 1918.
