Object description :

"Original Reliquary Of The Holy Cross In Spun Glass - 19th Century"
In a fine spun glass assembly, shines a glass cross in which two fine, reputed fractions of the true Cross have been deposited. On the back of this reliquary are two red wax seals, from the Churches of Lyon “authenticating” our relic. Wooden frame with old worm holes.
A superb work of piety that is rarely found in the form of a reliquary.
Spun glass is more often used on the Saints characters of the Paradise of Nevers.
Dimensions of 37 cm by 26, depth of 6 cm.
