Antique Sino-tibetan Bronze Tara Ming C17th - Chinese Tibet Buddhist Buddha

A Sino-Tibetan bronze figure of Tara seated in dhyanasana on a lotus pedestal, the right hand held in varada mudra and the left held in vitarka mudra.

Varada Mudra (vara means gift): it is the symbolism of donation and charity. He embodies compassion and sincerity. Practicing Varada Mudra encourages human beings to the art of forgiveness.

The Vitarka mudra symbolizes teaching and discussion. It shows the transmission of knowledge and insight gained after attaining enlightenment.
