Gilt bronze on rouge marble base. After the marble by Etienne Maurice Falconet completed in 1757 for Madame de Pompadour “Menacing Love”. The original marble was commissioned by Madame de Pompadour in 1757 for the gardens of the Hôtel d'Evreux, current Elysée Palace and today preserved at the Louvre Museum.
A winged angel represents Cupid, god of Love, sitting on a mound and looking mischievous. His right index finger, raised to his mouth, demands silence while he extracts an arrow from his quiver with his other hand to make the person it is going to hit fall in love.

Condition - Good condition - I noticed in the photos that it is a little dusty!
