MODERN ART OIL ON CARDBOARD 20TH CENTURY DENES DE HOLESCH (1910-1983). COUPLE OF SHARING HORSES Denes de Holesch, Hungarian painter, studied at the Budapest Fine Arts School. He lived in China where he had great success. He painted and exhibited in around fifteen countries around the world. He became a member of the New York Association of Portrait Painters. He painted many horses, his favorite subject from a very young age, notably observing them during races in England, rodeos in the United States and bullfights in Spain. He exhibited in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Korea, Manchuria, the Philippines, the United States, London, Paris, Mexico, and Germany. A friend of Picasso, he was invited to a bullfighting show on his 80th birthday in 1961. He painted a portrait of Pope John Paul II, the President of the Philippines as well as many other public figures. Oil on cardboard, signed lower middle. Framed under glass and black strips.
