Japan, 1930s, very pretty and unusual traditional "Ningyo" doll depicting a young water-carrying girl dressed in a kimono and wearing a traditional headdress. The head and hands are porcelain. The doll is placed in a glass and wood box whose wooden bottom is covered with a mirror so you can appreciate the subject from both sides at a single glance. The whole is superb, of great refinement and well preserved. Height 27 cm. Width 18.5 cm. Depth 15.5 cm.
