In a wooden frame with a beautiful patina is nestled an octagonal medallion, undoubtedly in plaster and in tender colors, of the Virgin and Child. Which on a red fabric background is surrounded by rich work in golden paper in the shape of sacred vases and birds in particular. This reliquary is to the Glory of Saint Donatus, whose ex-ossibus relics are exhibited here.
This Roman nobleman, bishop of Arezzo, was beheaded in the year 360.
