Silver stew spoon, filet model, the spatula engraved with coat of arms under a Count's crown, by the master goldsmith Jean Bernard Vieusseux, Castres 1782-1785. Jean Bernard Vieusseux was received as a master goldsmith in Toulouse for Albi on July 24, 1758. Jean Thuile notes in his work the goldsmiths of Languedoc directory of goldsmiths volume III p.394, that "among his works, some are with Castres hallmarks, not that our goldsmith worked in this town, but more probably because the masters of Albi had to be inculcated there for a certain time." Weight 183g. Condition, very good, little wear, traces and scratches from use. Massive spoon with a very beautiful pattern of very fatty fillets, rare jurisdiction.
