Object description :

"Chalice And Patene In Silver, France 18th Century, Circa 1783"
Chalice in hammered, embossed and chiseled silver, made in four parts: the circular base, the baluster with a pear-shaped knot, the golden cup inside and the false cup. The rocaille comes alive with a slight twisted movement on the cavetto border of the foot, on the lower collar and on the decoration of the foot and the knot reinforcing the effect produced by the asymmetry of each motif. On the top of the foot, in its flat and flat central part, there is a molding decorated with a Latin cross, topped with ears of wheat and bunches of grapes and decorated with rocaille comb. Eggs adorn the upper collar. The slightly flared cut is set in a faux cut with wavy channels.
