Neo-Renaissance style chalice and paten in silver and gilded silver, made in four screwed parts. Silver embossed, chiseled, engraved and guilloché. The foot has a cavetto and curved terrace profile and is enriched with three rosettes punctuating a row of canals. On the foot terrace: two oval medallions representing Saint Simon and Saint Andrew and a medallion with the Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus alternate with three carved cartouches of reeds, wheat and bunches of grapes. The ovoid knot is accompanied by rings and collars decorated with eggs, rope and pearls. Three pairs of angel heads in relief are presented at the top of the knot, they alternate with Christ symbols. The tulip cup is entirely gilded and adorned with a faux cut-out cup incorporating the Christ symbols and the medallions of the three theological virtues. Chalice made during the 2nd quarter of the 19th century by the Parisian goldsmiths Charles-Denis-Noël Martin and Joseph-Philippe-Adolphe Dejean ** whose hallmark was inscribed in 1837 and crossed out in 1846. The figured medallions integrated into the decoration of the fake -cut are due to the medalist Fleury Montagny 1760-1836.
