"The Florentine Player Bronze Sculpture"
Bronze sculpture representing a Florentine singer from the 15th century signed on the terrace P Dubois, Founder's stamp Mechanical Reduction A Colas. Paul Dubois was born July 18, 1829 in Nogent sur Seine and died May 23, 1905 in Paris, is a French sculptor and painter. After studying law, he was admitted to the School of Fine Arts in Paris and then went to Rome. Influenced by Italy and Renaissance art, he became a leader of the so-called Florentine sculptors. Back in Paris, he enjoyed great success with the 15th century Florentine singer and won a medal of honor at the Salon of Fine Arts in 1865 and 1876. He was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1873 Paul Dubois was appointed curator of the Luxembourg Museum. In 1878 he succeeded Eugène Guillaume as director of the school of fine arts Height: 38 cm Diameter: 11 cm
