A performance of engraving and drilling of brass, performed during the Kadjar dynasty, second part of the 19th century, 1850-1900.
Outside, a frieze of 27 roses in scrolls, tendrils, of plants.
Second, a frieze of 37 roses, followed by a frieze of 47 roses, always in interlacing spirals.
Engraved braids separate the friezes.
Next comes a series of ten rondos or rosettes presenting Persian princes and princesses, performing the arts of ancient Persia, linked by interlacing roses towards a central rondo.
This plate is in perfect condition.
I insist on the exceptional character of the object Originating from Persia, Iran, probably from Tabriz, province of Eastern Azerbaijan (Iranian Azerbaijan) North West of Iran, region where the work of brassware was and is very developed and of immense quality.
The Kadjar dynasty or Kadjars (Qājār, Qadjar, Qajar, Persian: قاجار) is a Turkmen dynasty which reigned over Iran from 1786 to 1925.
The fineness of the carvings on brass, copper, silver and gold show the dexterity of Persian engravers very often of Armenian origin.
