Round rosewood diamond marquetry table with one pull and one drawer, fluted legs in part conical but also in high straight part. Golden clogs stamped under the tray "Crystal Staircase in Paris" in Louis XVI style - 20th century, heir to the great haberdashery merchants of the 18th century, the Crystal Staircase was a famous company under the Restoration. It was created in 1802 by the widow Barthelemy Desarnaud and her brother Philippe Auguste Charpentier taken over in 1830 by Boin, tailor then in 1840 by Pierre-Isidore Lahoche. In 1852, the latter joined forces with his son-in-law, Emile-Augustin Pannier, who became Pannier, Lahoche et Cie in 1867. The high quality of his production brought the store a princely clientele. It includes the Tsar, the Emperor of Austria, the kings of Spain, Portugal, Prussia, Holland... In 1891, the Cristak Staircase appeared in the Dido-Bottin almanah for the first time in the section "Manufacture and trade of furniture.
