A very refined image of the face of Christ "Salvator Mundi" depicted with his gaze fixed towards the viewer.
The expression is solemn and conveys a clear protective and reassuring message. It is the most typical Christian iconography created by the great Flemish Masters in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The stylistic perfection of the work is remarkable and well highlighted by the excellent state of conservation of the panel.
The work dates back to the first decades of the 16th century and the Author is part of the circle of great masters operating in Bruges in those golden years of Flemish painting.
