TRADITIONAL CHINESE SKIRT FROM THE LATE 19th CENTURY THE STRAIGHT PANELS AT THE FRONT AND BACK ARE RICHLY DECORATED WITH FLYING “HAPPINESS” BATS, SURROUNDED BY PEONIES AND LOTUS, ALL FRAMED BY RACEALS OF “HAPPY OMEN” CLOUDS AND FLOWERS. BUTTERFLIES AND CHERRY BLOSSOMS DOWN THE MANY SIDE PANELS. BROWN SILK SATIN WITH GOLDEN BRONZE REFLECTIONS EMBROIDERED WITH SILK WITH FLAT HOOK STITCHES, APPLICATION OF BLACK SATIN BIAS STRIPS DOUBLED WITH A SECOND DECORATED WHITE TAFFETAS TRIM. LINING IN GOLDEN YELLOW TAFFETAS DECORATED WITH FLOWERS, ECRUE BELT IN COTTON CANVAS . THE LINING SHOWS SOME STAINS AND WEAR, THE EMBROIDERY IS MAGNIFICENT, THE BROWN SILK SHOWS SOME DISCOLORATION.
