Opening through a door opening onto 2 scrolled shelves, and topped with a tray also topped by 2 painted shelves, this corner with painted decoration of a woman seated at a table serving a glass which she holds in her hand, is part of the furniture and objects made from the 17th century in the town of Spa and called “jolités”.

Illustrious artists have contributed to the development of this typically Spade craftsmanship. The objects concerned are clothes brushes, bellows and hearth brushes, passports but also fans, jewelry boxes, sewing or work boxes, glove boxes, tea boxes, card boxes to play, token boxes, watch holders, cups, cases, frames, writing cases, snuff boxes, small pieces of furniture… Many representative works have been presented at various international exhibitions.
