Rare dance mask collected from the Tabar Islands in Papua New Guinea. This mask made of bark, plant fibers, recovery bag, pigments and paint is worn during ceremonial dances linked to the so-called "Malagan" rite. This was notably used during a large ceremony organized in February 2020 on the island of Tatau. Sold with a presentation base. 98 x 30 x 37 cm / €690 including base and shipping costs.
