"Bergman - Orientalist Bronze Lamp"
Cold-painted Vienna bronze lamp with an orientalist subject. The scene is composed of an Arab character taking a quiet moment on a prayer mat with his legs crossed with a cup held delicately in his left hand, a highly detailed hookah placed on a table, accompanied by a plate bearing a jar. Above him, a lamp inspired by a minaret adorns the scene with moon-shaped trinkets on chains and a shield and intersecting rifles evoke stories steeped in tradition. The underside of the lamp bears the Bergman brand and the inscription Nam Greb, a pseudonym used by Bergman, around 1910. Listed in the Antique Vienna Bronzes catalog by Joseph Zobel.
