"Bishop In Polychrome Oak From The 18th Century"
Superb and very large period sculpture from the beginning of the 18th century in polychrome wood representing a bishop. He is presented standing dressed in a cassock and covered with his miter which is the most solemn headdress of the Catholic church. This sculpture is presented on a base with cut sides, the bearded bishop has a very fine face. The entire sculpture is greasy with remains of polychomy. Superb quality work with a bold sculpture and a beautiful facial expression, rare in this dimension. Missing hands.
