Born in 1924 in Sicily, Nino Guiffrida settled in 1949 in Paris, in the Montmartre district .
Like many Montmartre artists of this period, he painted the atmosphere of the famous Place du Tertre. And in the evening, they become portrait painters, working on café terraces and in restaurants in Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Nino also devoted himself to painting children, which became one of his favorite themes of inspiration. Pierre Imbourg, journalist and art critic, wrote of him: "Montmartre, land of little Poulbots, allowed him to record in his mind all these children's faces whose intensity of expression he tries to reproduce." With the disappearance of the art galleries in Montmartre, Nino decided to settle on the French Riviera, in Cannes then in Vallauris.
He then exhibited in many cities: Paris, Marseille, Milan, Brussels, and received the gold medal at the Ancona graphic arts exhibition. One of his works is in the Baltimore Museum.
