"Betel Box – Philippines"
Betel box Rare rectangular betel nut box, with two handles, in bronze inlaid with brass, with symmetrical geometric decoration. Inside is a removable box with three compartments (two small and one larger) with their hinged lids. This inner box can be removed to access the bottom. The compartments are thus formed to contain the ingredients necessary for chewing the nut (betel leaf, areca nut and condiments). Magnificent example of metal inlay work and very good condition. The metal work and the shape of the patterns are particularly beautiful and aesthetic.
