The Screen slides between 2 mahogany uprights in the shape of a fluted column with brass inlay in the grooves.
Each column is topped with a brass capital and has a ring at its base.
The curved shape of the base is also highlighted with inlaid brass plates.
The top of the firewall is made up of a molded strip which allows the screen to slide.
This is decorated with an oriental scene created in petit point tapestry.
A character in the center of the composition takes shelter under a parasol; it is surrounded by exotic vegetation in which a parrot is perched.
The back is covered with a piece of “old pink” fabric.
Small lack of a quarter-round above the left capital.
19th century.
