Walnut And Silver Snuff Box

Large walnut snuff box, silver frame, early 19th century. Rectangular shape with curved and eventful facade, dovetail assembly, interior lined with protective paper (some paper missing). Two rims at the ends of the cover, a grip in the shape of an engraved mustache, a central oval shield blank with inscriptions; all tested silver but without visible hallmarks. In very good condition, the hinge is perfectly functional, a retraction of the wood on the reverse of the dovetails, the threads which surround the box do not fit perfectly.
