"Pair Of Bottle Vases, Underglaze Mark "augustus Rex", Probably Saxony 19th"
On the domed vases with high and narrow necks there are decorated figure scenes on both sides depicting a coastal landscape with figures and boats according to the Meissen model. On the wide-brimmed bottom is the blue coaster brand "Augustus Rex". As the "Augustus Rex" brand could only be used by Meissen for Augustus the Strong, painters from the Meissen factory began to reproduce these products in certain small factories in the Dresden region at the beginning of the 19th century. At first, the quality of these products was still largely identical to that of Meissen products, but during the 19th century they were increasingly simplified and displayed. These two vases are one of the first examples of their kind. Minor restoration on a vase. HD photos are available
