Very beautiful engraving representing a portrait of a young woman sitting on a chair outdoors; This very beautiful portrait was engraved by Daniel Charles Marie Mordant born December 21, 1853 in Quimper and died January 16, 1914 in Paris. He was an engraver, painter and etcher. He was a student of the Beaux Arts in Paris then of Léon Gauchenet, Paul Edmé le Mat, Charles Albert Waltner as well as the painter Carolus Durau. From 1882 to 1889 he exhibited etchings at the Salon des Artistes Français, then from 1890 to 1914 at the Société Nationale des Beaux Arts. In 1900, he received the gold medal for the engraving section during the Universal Exhibition. Albert Edelfelt was born on July 21, 1854, he was one of the first Finnish artists to study in Paris. He entered the workshop of Jean Léon Gérome in 1874. He was first a history painter then turned to naturalism from 1880. He quickly achieved great success with his popular Finnish scenes, then for his portraits. .
