She founded the Parisian haute couture house that bears her name, Maison Lanvin, at the end of the 19th century. Today, although no longer practicing haute couture, this house happens to be the oldest fashion house still in activity. Jeanne Lanvin greatly appreciates colors; his favorite color, Lanvin blue or Polignac pink in homage to his daughter, or Vélasquez green are classics of the house. To maintain the exclusivity of its colors, it founded its own dyeing workshops in Nanterre in 1923. In 1909, the Lanvin house, now part of the elite, became a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. It innovated in the 1930s and 1940s with its famous topstitching which sculpted a slender silhouette, as in the model presented here.
