Lovely beer mug in sterling silver with the goldsmith's mark of William Plummer and the guarantee hallmarks of the city of London for the year 1776. Beer mugs are almost non-existent in French or Belgian silversmithing. In England and central Europe, on the other hand, they are quite widespread objects. Silver is an excellent thermal conductor and it is a real pleasure to drink a cold beer from silver tankards. This copy weighs a generous 315 grams.
