Parisian Commode, Ile De France In Walnut From The 18th Century

Île de France chest of drawers also known as Parisian chest of drawers from the mid-18th century curved in walnut.

It therefore has a curved front, the two top drawers open using pull keys and hide a smaller secret drawer in the middle.
the two lower drawers open using bronze pull handles with lock and keys.
the drawers have been revised and slide perfectly. the bronzes are original and only the keyhole on the secret drawer has been changed.
the bronzes have been cleaned. the locks and keys work.
the drawers are carved with gendarmes' hats and quatrefoil motifs in the middle.
the feet are straight, always in the spirit of Louis XIV. the lower crossbar is hectic.
the ribs are carved with flat-banded panels with a gendarme hat decoration.
the rear legs are straight in oak as are the bottoms, the insides of the drawers and the backs of the furniture.
there are small foot grafts on the rear legs as well as some walnut grafts on the fronts for a maintenance restoration visible in the photos.
a preventative xylophene treatment of the entire piece of furniture was carried out in the workshop.
the marble is not original, probably it is a beautiful old gray Sainte Anne marble, perhaps changed in the 19th century but matching this chest of drawers perfectly.
beautiful wax patina with a blond walnut honey color. the drawers are dovetailed and the chest of drawers is doweled.
