Important still life of flowers and fruits by the master Felice Boselli (Piacenza 1650 - Parma 1732).
Oil on oval-shaped canvas, probably relined at the beginning of the 20th century and mounted on a beautiful golden frame from the first half of the 19th century. In excellent condition.

The painting in question actually shows peculiarities of Boselli's art, the composition is full of detailed luministic effects which are reported through dense and fast brushstrokes, making the painting very material and with vibrant naturalistic effects.

He was a painter active above all in Parma and in his hometown, Piacenza, where he studied and entered the world of painting under the guidance of Michelangelo Nuvolone. It was in that workshop that he met Angelo Crivelli, (known as Crivellone), an animal rights activist specializing in game, who significantly influenced his style together with the Cremonese school, the Bergamo school of Baschenis, Bettera, and the Roman school of Michelangelo. Cerquozzi, as well as the Flemish one. The other bases of his pictorial personality derived from the study and observation of regional and local still lifes, from Parmigianino as regards the figurations, from Annibale Carracci's Macelleria for the recurring themes and scenes.
