Temple ridge ornament (Faïteau) called, according to interpretations, “Garuda” (In Sanskrit: Eagle), mount of the god Vishnu or “Hong/Hamsa” (Thai: Hong /Sanskrit: Hamsa) representing the mythical bird or swan , animal vehicle of the god Brahma. Beautiful original patina dotted with concretions and lichens, vestiges of red and yellow bowls and traces of gilding. (Colors of Brahma). Thailand or Laos, 18th/19th century. Delivered with its white or black steel base, adjustable inclination of the shofa. Provenance: Estate of the collector and art dealer Claude de Marteau. Sold with certificate of provenance.
