"Silver Plaque Representing The Flagellation Of Christ"
Rectangular solid silver plaque with rounded top representing The Flagellation of Christ or Christ at the column. Christ stands with his body slightly inclined forward, his hands tied behind his back, he leans against the column, symbol of one of the instruments of the Passion. On each side two soldiers hold a whip called a flagrum, the characteristic of which is the fineness of its twisted and knotted ropes. The bottom of the plate simulates the stones of a wall. At the bottom two silver hallmarks from Augsburg early 18th century: - pine cone in an oval frame. - T above a G? in a round frame. The period frame is in carved and molded wood, is also arched at the top and decorated with scrolls and stylized flowers.
