"1920s Art Deco Brooch Navette Shape Old Cut Diamonds And Rose On Yellow Gold & Silver"
This “plaque” format brooch makes the link between the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Indeed, it is made of 750/°° yellow gold (18 KT, owl hallmark) and 925/°° silver (swan hallmark), which links it to the period at the very beginning of the century. Its general geometric and symmetrical aesthetic, however, evokes Art Deco pieces from the 1930s...while its curves evoke the softer forms of the Art Nouveau period which preceded it. Its cut and tapered shuttle volume also contributes to this. The diamonds, old cut in the center and rose cut set in lines, correspond to these eras and give a soft shine to this refined jewel, with careful finishes, in particular thanks to the delicately beaded setting edges. Weight of the central diamond estimated at approximately 0.35 ct Gross weight: 9.86 g Condition: imperceptible micro-scratches on the metal parts, natural inclusions in the stones not visible to the naked eye.
