Object description :

"Beautiful Pewter Ewer - Paris, 18th Century"

Pewter ewer in baluster shape with flared scrolled throat, gadrooned pedestal; equipped with a spring handle, thumb rest and track. It is very finely engraved "with trembling" of architecture, birds, a flower vase, a grape harvester, accompanied by flowers and foliage scrolls.
Hallmarking of Louis Toussaint BARDEL received master in 1705:
1°- crowned flight and bar / LTB / P.
2°- ETIN FIN / LT BARDEL / sun / flight / stars / bar / lily / 1715.
3°- Control hallmark: crowned lily / FG / P used between 1726 to 1732.
Height: 24.8 cm.
PARIS, Early 18th century


Rare, superb and well marked... flagship of a collection.
This very elegant type of ewer was adopted by goldsmiths, glassmakers, earthenware makers, and earthenware potters of great importance. part of Western Europe.
