Georges Maroniez, born in Douai in 1865 and died in 1933, is a French genre and landscape painter. He was a student of Mr. and Mrs. Demont-Breton. He carried out several activities at the same time: examining magistrate, engineer, painter.
He appeared in Paris, at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he was a member from 1889. He obtained an honorable mention in 1891, a third class medal in 1905, a second class medal in 1906. He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor.
He remains known above all as a good painter of the sea and the life of fishermen.
