Large circular dish by Paul Mignon for Longwy in enameled and cracked earthenware decorated with flowers and cacti. On the back, stamp "Émaux de Longwy", hand decorated Made in France Titled "Flowers and Cactus" Decor by P. Mignon, limited edition of 75 copies. Our dish bears the No. 22 Dish in perfect condition Period circa 1947 Diameter: 36.5 cm Two small holes made on the back for possible wall mounting. Paul Mignon (1930 - 2012) In 1945, he entered the Longwy Faïencerie by competitive examination as an apprentice decorator under the orders of Maurice Paul Chevallier, artistic director at the time. A particularly gifted apprentice, he obtained first place in the National Competition for Apprentice Decorators. Encouraged by his first successes, the management of the Faïencerie entrusted him with more important work and in 1947, he signed his first creations in limited editions. His creations are multiple: Japanese decorations, floral, animal, representations of castles....
