Octagonal barrel signed on top: "SMITH & WESSON.SPRINGFIELD.MASS".
Upward swinging aperture.
Sight with round blade and notched rear sight stop.
Cylinder smooth, bored of six rooms and carries the date of the patent: "PATENTED APRIL 3 1855 JULY 5 1859 & DEC 18 1860".
Spur trigger.
Rosewood stock with smooth square finish, stamped "59289".
Marks of control.
Walnut case, hook closure, leather-lined interior.
Very good condition, some pitting inside the barrel.
