Circa 1860 India for export to France Precious long cashmere shawl from India in espoliné weave with seven-color tapestry stitch and dating from the end of the Second Empire. A particularity intended for the Parisian market of the 19th century, is this finely tucked original double reserve in the colors Fuschia and black. Embroidered signature of the Indian craftsman in the central reserves. Harlequin embroidered borders on both ends. These rich shawls were part of wedding baskets. They adorned crinoline dresses and decorated the interiors of the Second Empire. Some very rare moth holes. Stable and very resistant condition. Very good condition of color and conservation.
