Object description :

"Le Reflex Autochrome Viewer"
Viewer for autochrome 9 x 12 cm brand Le Reflex The lower part is made up of a large mirror: the light passes through the autochrome placed on top and will be reflected on the mirror. Sold with “landscape” autochrome. Filed as a patent in 1903 but unveiled at the Academy of Sciences in 1904, the Autochrome Lumière plate, invented by Louis Lumière, was the first color photography process. The secret of this invention lies in the use of tinted potato starch, making it possible to capture and filter light.
