Photograph on enamel Very beautiful medallion of a man (4 x 3cm) in a burgundy velvet frame (12.5 x 9.5 cm) Signed and dated 1866, Lafon de Camarsac (1821-1905), inventor of photography on Lafon enamel de Camarsac (1821-1905), is the inventor of photographic enamels. These are photographic portraits reproduced in the form of enameled plates. He works with Eugène Disdéri, exploiting clichés. In 1867 he won a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. It was in his workshop that Mathieu Deroche was trained and was so successful that the email process was named after him. 3 rue de la Paix is the address of his studio where he presents his glazed images. These enameled miniatures are very rare and are traded in the largest auction houses such as Christies in London or Drouot in Paris...
