"Vanities Skull Earrings Diamonds Ruby Garnets Tsavorites On Yellow Gold"
Earrings in 750/°° yellow gold (18 KT, owl hallmark) on the theme and representation of vanities. Thus, two skulls are mounted here, very characteristic of this theme widely represented between the 15th and 17th centuries within art in general, paintings, but also jewelry....with philosophical connotation, these representations aimed to suggest the ephemeral nature of everything, of life, and therefore indicates the precious nature of it....the resulting message is therefore eminently positive, aiming to encourage people to take advantage of everything present. The message is also inscribed on the bars by the engraving "vanitas", in Latin. These barrettes are adorned with a succession of brilliant-cut diamonds, rubies, and brightly sparkling Tsavoite garnets. The skulls are mounted at the end of a chain which gives these earrings length and mobility. The closure system consists of a rod (for pierced ears) combined with an alpa clasp, the most secure.
