A Rare Very Fine Chip Carved Walnut Frisian Dutch mangling Board 17/18th Century.
It is rare to find a mangling board in walnut from Friesland in the North of The Netherlands.
Very interesting to see is the carved rope on both sides.
The Mangling board is in wonderful original good used condition with beautiful original old patination.
High: 71 cm, wide: 13 cm thick: 2 cm
To your information: these type of mangling boards where made by men to give it to their women they loved and in most of the cases it was given by a marriage, in the Netherlands this was a tradition.
