HUSSARD SABER, type 1776/Year IV, Revolution - Consulate. 27978 Brass frame. Guard on one branch hallmarked with the rooster (hallmark for revolutionary productions from 1793) and signed “Thomine”. Long-tailed cap. Calfskin-covered wooden handle. Curved blade with hollow sides, length 84.4 cm. Wooden scabbard covered in black waxed leather with two large brass fittings with iron rings, just like the stinger. France. Revolution - Consulate. Good condition, blade with oxidation from use, small lack of leather at the base of the spindle.
