Circa 1860 France or Southern Europe Beautiful summer crinoline ball dress in pale pink moiré silk lampas with cream border decoration and brocade floral garlands, the fabric of which is probably earlier than the making of the large crinoline dress. In one piece, the bodice is boned, pointed in front and closed with period brass hooks in the back. The skirt is finely fitted in organ pleats, sewn to the bodice. Cream chintz lining and side slits for pockets. The dress has a few tiny halos on the front skirt, very difficult to observe, and tiny halos under the arms, the lampas is very durable, with no holes or major defects.
