Ornamental and beautiful barometer in gilded wood from the 18th century in the purest Louis XVI style, richly ornamented. It signed Carcano on its beautiful painted dial with in its center a magnificent compass rose with gold highlights, the dial and the beautifully cut hands contribute to the preciousness of this piece of carved wood surmounted by two doves in the nest, surmounted by a laurel wreath braid falling elegantly from the arched console and also decorated with foliage; on the side of the beautiful round molded dial two masterful flaming cornucopias highlight and amplify the silhouette of the piece, they are twisted and end in plume and elegant wood surrounding the alcohol thermometer well painted and in complete working order like the rear system in its mercury housing in perfect condition, the glasses of the tubes and the weight system of the pulley very present and miraculously preserved. The pearls on the sides set the tone with their beautiful movement in the fall of the necklace held by two cabochon attachments, the base ends in a scooped and ribbed shape ending in a ball.
