"Wrought Iron Gate Dated 1824 Supported By Two Cast Iron Columns"
Elegant wrought iron gate, in perfect condition, assembled with half-iron and mortise-tenon respecting the canons of the 17th and 18th centuries, with a pattern of intersecting ribbed vaults and diamonds in its central frieze. It is topped with a triangular pediment, dated 1824, with the PM monogram flanked by scrolls, a flower vase and peaks adorn its ridge. Its two bayonets work, see the last two photos. The section of the frames is 30 mm squared and that of the bars at the upturned-molded ends is 20 mm squared. The height of the openings is 214 cm and a width of 177 cm. The whole is supported by two cast iron columns topped with a sphere, dating from the mid-19th century, with a diameter of 10 cm, a height of 254 cm and a base of 30 cm squared, damaged in a corner.
