Rare chinese ink with abstract decoration by Jan Meyer or Meijer. Jan Meyer (1927-1995) is a famous painter belonging to the lyrical movement. From 1948, Meyer frequently exhibited his work at The Eendt gallery based in Amsterdam. His first personal exhibition abroad took place in 1957 in Paris, at the Dina Vierny gallery. Jan Meyer's works can be classified into the category of “informal materie-schilders” (Lyric Abstraction). In 1958, Jan Meyer was selected for the Grand Prix International de Peinture while living in Nicolas de Staël's studio in Antibes. In 1960, he settled permanently on the outskirts of Paris, in Dieudonné, a small village in the Oise. His frequent travels – mainly to Greece – were an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
