Until the Revolution he worked on rue de Charenton then transferred his workshop to rue des Fossés-du-Temple. He excelled in the manufacture of luxury furniture executed with great taste but in a rather austere manner. The marquetry is almost non-existent. Fine bronze frames surround large sheets of mahogany veneer and sometimes rosewood. All of his production demonstrates great attention to detail and perfection.
