Léonard Chatenet received in 1807 Goldsmith Le Couvert Rue Saint-Anne then Cour de Harlay in Paris By the master goldsmith Léonard Chatenet, received in 1807, solid silver oil cruet holder. The top, whose contours are finely openworked with an elegant and very fine gallery, rests on four claw feet, the applique points with winged lion heads. The cruet holders are each flanked by three large pilasters in the model under leafy festoons. The column of the gripping handle is worked at its base in small cut sections on which two snakes bite the cork holders coil under a generous terrace of very raised and finely chiseled leaves. The grip ring, united at the base of two rosettes, forms cornucopias, linked by a large stylized palm leaf between two lions' mouths. The crystal cruets are in very good conditions; small secondary accidents (micro-chips) on the faceted caps which will not interfere with use - imperceptible. Micro-marks of use and old consolidation restoration (welcome) under the small gallery of the plateau. This exceptional model is of remarkable quality and density (844 g). Goldsmith's hallmarks, 1st Rooster hallmarks 1st title (950/1000) and guaranteed for Paris 1798-1809, on tray, gallery and under the cruet holders. Length - Lenght: 22.5 cm./ 8.86 in. Width - Width: 13 cm. / 5.12 in. Height - Height: 29 cm./ 11. 42 in. Total weight - Total weight: 1718 gr. Solid silver weight - Sterling silver weight: 844 gr.
